Gainsmith is made by Joao Vitor Humenhuk Achutti. If you have a question about your data, email gainsmith@humenhuk.com.
- Everything you log stays on your phone. Gainsmith has no accounts and no servers of its own.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
- If you scan a barcode, only the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to look the product up.
- If you connect Apple Health, that data stays on your phone and is never used for advertising.
What Gainsmith stores, and where
Gainsmith stores the following on your device only:
- Your plan: your first name (optional), age, sex, height, weight, goal weight, training days, pace, and your answers about what makes gaining hard.
- What you log: meals, weigh-ins, lifts, training and paused days, and the coach's changes to your targets.
- Settings: units, reminders, numbers-light mode and similar choices.
This data is not sent to us or anyone else. If your phone backs up to iCloud or your computer, it's included in that backup like any other app data, under Apple's terms.
Typing what you ate
If you use “Describe it” to log a meal in words, your description is read by Apple Intelligence on your iPhone. It never leaves your phone and isn't sent to us or to anyone else.
Apple Health
Connecting Apple Health is optional. If you turn it on, Gainsmith:
- reads your weight, so weigh-ins from a smart scale or another app show up in your trend
- reads your workouts, to mark your training days
- writes the weigh-ins you log in Gainsmith, so your other apps can see them
Health data stays on your phone. It is not shared with us or third parties, and it's never used for advertising or marketing. You can change or remove Gainsmith's access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing.
Barcode lookups
When you scan or type a barcode, Gainsmith sends that number to Open Food Facts, a free and open food database, to get the product's name and nutrition. Nothing else is sent: no name, no account, nothing you've logged. Like any website, Open Food Facts receives your IP address with the request, and their privacy policy applies to their servers.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Gainsmith never sees your payment details. Apple tells the app whether your subscription or free trial is active so it can unlock Premium.
Notifications
Reminders, such as the evening fuel check and the free-trial reminder, are scheduled on your phone. There's no push server, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings.
Age
Gainsmith is for people aged 18 and over.
Your choices and deleting your data
- To delete everything Gainsmith stores, go to You › Erase all data and start over.
- Deleting the app also deletes all of its data from your phone.
- Weigh-ins that Gainsmith wrote to Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app.
Because your data never reaches us, we have nothing to sell, share or hand over. You can still email us with any privacy question.
Who is responsible

Changes
